Here's a recent project I did for my digital painting class. My assignments have been more or less studies and experiments trying new techniques outside of my comfort zone. I want my digital work to resemble hand-mediums and not get too into the overly-computerized-type work. That style was always bland to me but I'm finding much easier methods to creating work, similar to screen prints, applying textures to lighten up the flat shapes of color I typically work with. This was also the first time that I used a pencil drawing in my final piece. I usually start with pencil and then get crazy with the ink, cleaning things up but I figured I'd keep it, giving it that grainy, rough look.As far as my other works I have yet to post, there's a lot of the same things going on with my recent work....lots of experimentation! Doing black&white shirt graphics gets really boring after a while so I'm seeing what I can do to broaden my horizons.
